My steering no longer locks now when the car is off and the wheel is turned. I can just keep turning my wheel in either direction when the car is parked. This may have something to do with the noise I have had in the front end.

I just hit 18,000 on the car today so it doesnt make sense for the steering column to go out with such low miles.

I called my dealer and they said even with aftermarket suspension they would agree to replace the steering column if they can't fix it.

Any idea why it would just stop locking out of the blue?

How do you engage the steering lock? Mine never locked?

once the key is pulled out of the car, turn the steering wheel, it will lock after about a quarter of a turn.

Nope. It doesn't lock. I've turn both ways. Its really hard to turn after the car off and key is out.

Which way do you turn the steering to lock? What is the purpose of locking the steering?

im not sure which way u turn it , but i do know its so that it can help against theft..
