V-AFC II Problem
V-AFC II Problem
Okay I installed the controller, which was no problem. Every time I go to change the VTEC settings, fuel cut occurs at 4,000 rpm and the check engine light comes on and says something is wrong with the air/fuel meter. (Dont remember the exact code) The input/output and VTEC is at 6, 6 and 3. Does anyone have any idea how I can solve this so I can start changing the VTEC settings without having to deal with fuel cut?
well the problem with this is that if you dont change the fuel and air settings ur either gonna run too rich or too lean. I would have this dynoed and have some one do this for you. I tried it the same way you are and the car lugged anytime VTEC engaged. I would just leave it alone till you can get it dynoed. You can really mess up your engine by messing with this.
I've already done that. I had it dyno'd the day after I installed it, thinking that a tune would fix the CEL. During my 2nd pull, the CEL came on and w/out a scanner at the time, the guy said that he couldn't do anything with it. Then he reset the ECU, tweaked it a little more and finally got it to work right. On my way home from the dyno, it hit fuel cut at 4k again and the CEL came back on. Could this problem be installation related? Maybe the VTEC solenoid wire is backwards?
Edit* the Dyno showed that I'm running a good a/f mixture... not lean at all, maybe even a bit rich in spots.

Here are the pics since they got erased from the other thread.

i'm sure it will. just reset the ecu by pulling the fuse or battery to clear the engine light once you rewire (well you need to anyway if you're hooking up live wires).
