Anyone a real tech here?
So last weekend I changed out my clutch and rear main seal. I happened to throw in a used OEM clutch until I get my Centerforce but it had WAY more meat on it than my original one. I also put in a used pressure plate and flywheel that were in great condition. I didn't have them resurfaced as this was just a band aid until I got my new clutch. I did however clean them with brake cleaner before installation. Now I'm having 2 issues.
1) When the car starts it gives a high pitched whine. it sounds like a loud belt trying to start. I never touched that side of the car so it's got to be sometihing in the strater/flywheel I assume.
2) The clutch is slipping worse than before with a clutch with MORE fiber material on it!
What gives?

the first one sounds like a bad bearing. does the noise happen with the clutch engaged or disengaged?
Now you said you put on a new rear main seal, its a possibility that you didnt put the seal in correctly and now it is leaking on the clutch surface. Or possibly the surfaces from the old flywheel/pressure plate were too worn and needed to be machined. Its also possible that the release bearing was installed improperly. You need to recheck everything. My first guess would be either the rear seal is leaking or something wasnt installed properly.
also have you adjusted the clutch?

Since the rear main could leak into the bell housing, the car would drip and I could detect the leack from inside of the boot covering the shifter fork. I see no leak.
The release or "throw out" bearing attaches to the shift fork by two prongs. I am positive it is correct.
How can I adjust a hydraulic clutch?

this is the link for the pedal adjustment.
Well if there is no leak, then its possibly either the surfaces got oily or contaminated, or the surfaces of the clutch are worn. that includes the flywheel and pressure plate. Try the adjustment first and see if that helps.

I'll give it a try. I had 3 throw out bearings from motors I've parted out and I ended up keeping the one I had because it was the quietest. lol
