"speedo" problem
ill try making this short. i had to have my car running for about 6 hours straight, with the heater and music on. when we woke up in the morning, i noticed that my cruise control green light is on. i shut the car down, and after about an hour i started to drive back home. the cruise control light was still on, and when we got to the interstate, one of my passengers noticed that my speedo aint working. the needle just sits on the zero. after about 10-15 seconds after that was noticed, the check engine light came on- but my oil temp was normal, and the engine sounded and pulled like usual. my miles werent getting "registered" either. what could be the problem guys? its still like that now. the drive back home was about 50 miles, and when i got off to drop one of the passengers off, i also noticed that at idle my rpms were at 1100. im taking it in today. i just got back from work, and its getting worse. at idle rpms are up to around 1900 and the engine starts to sound like kaka. speedo worked for about 10 seconds when i pulled out of my driveway, but it worked kinda "slow". i dont know how to explain this, but im sure i was accelerating quicker than what it was showing. and after about 10 seconds it jumped to around 45 and came back down to 0- and now it just sits there. could it be caused by having a close encounter with a curb about a 1 and a half back? i was airborn for 39 feet and had to have major stuff fixed in my front suspension ($2700 worth). could that have caused it, and if it could, what do you guys think? is the dealer gonna blame it on that? im sure they'll notice it cause i still have dents around my sunroof from the frame being bent. i didnt report it to my insurance, so what should i do? help me out guys, any ideas? by the way, my Ex is bone stock (except for a stereo system) so they cant blame it on any mods.

actually my dealer only does oil changes and similar stuff- they dont have a shop. they sent me a business card a couple of days after i got my car with an authorized place that takes care of all that stuff. i had it fixed over there, but no one knows about it, except for me and the shop.
You should be ok at the dealer then. It's wierd that they don't have a shop. I had some suspension damage once. Tried to take it to a cheap shop to have it fixed, they made up a different excuse every day for not doing it. Each one was BS. Then they finally said i could sue them if they fixed it (also BS). I then took it to a honda dealer and they fixed it straight off, no complaints. incompetant fools. sorry to rant.
