Pedal Vibrations
Pedal Vibrations
Hey guys, Im pretty new to the gen 7th Civics. Now I have been noticing that my pedals vibrate a lil. I can feel the road vibration and today it was raining, when I use the wipers, I can feel the wiper motors' vibration in the pedals. Is that normal? Also the speed for the wiper at intermediate and the second setting is kinda slow compare to other cars I've driven, is that also normal?
Thx in advance.

Does the pedal vibrate when braking? Or just while driving?
Now if your wipers are vibrating across the windshield, either your wipers have deteriated, and you need new ones, or you are in gearboxes shoes and have a problem with your cars wiper system. (just a joke because gearbox has tried every set of wipers known to man and still has them vibrate accross the windshield).
Also the speed setting I think is pretty low compared to other cars I have driven. I think it is normal on the civics. The high speed seems like low speed on my moms car.

hey if gearbox is reading this TRY VALEO they're around 15/wiper but they phooking rock
they don't have a 'skeleton frame' just the wiper and a spine persay and the clip...I've put them on several cars and even dry w/o lubrication of any kind they just glide hell even quiet no 'whine & grind'

sometimes you can feel the pistons of the brakes in your pedals when you stop or the abs but the abs is a rapid pulsating action...you might be feeling a wheelbearing thats seeped out its grease and is running dry now... thats my thought

only the ex has it. I actually picked up some new trico innovision wipers (the kind with just a steel beam. They wipe alot faster cause they don't drag on the windshield. You can kinda see them trying to skid, but there is even pressure so they never do. Very fast and smooth wipe. And finally too after trying 5 sets of wiper blades. I'm sticking with these. Only used in light rain so far and even with dry windshield they don't streak.

something with the brakes, prolly just warped rotors if it does it when going fast. Are all your lug nuts tightened the same torque? I had some vibration and swapped with new pads, but it eventually came back. Now I have some powerslot rotors and hawk pads waiting to go on soon.
If you feel it in the clutch and gas pedal, it might have nothing to do with brakes. The first guess I'd make is that a wheel is out of balance.. Maybe one of the small balancing weights came off and that is whats causing it. Best bet is to have the dealer check it out IMO.

Shoot....if its your alignment you're gonna find out a lot soner than next year hehe
and if you have no weights on those rims...you got some really well balanced tires and rims probably a zero dead weight ratio

even a lil pull will cause uneven tire and parts wear over time.... get the car the way you want it and then get your alignment
and again as for the wheels if you have anyone that KNOWS (ASE) or specialist run your tires on a true balance machine they can determine if you need weights or not....it is rare that setups will come out balanced evenly...just yesterday i had a tire and rim zero out I checked the calibration 3 times and spun it again and it zeroed out still...its rare but it does happen I doubt it that all 4 came out zero....but stranger has happened

i guarantee, unless a crack-head qc'd your car as it left the factory, that your wheels came balanced with weights on the wheels.
however, after 70km, it's not uncommon for a weight or two to come up missing.
so take the thing to a reputable tire shop and have those bad boys balanced...
and then you can call it a day
