Smile What's the best way to get a dealership to work with you ?

Hi Guys, have multiple issues with my new civic. Wondered if you can give me some Tips on what to do or not to do to get my issues resolved ? Like who best to talk to and what to say ?

Issues:
- Some of the Door gaps aren't equal or strait (will they fix this ??)
- call pulls to right - already had it in once
- A/C blows warm once in a while for about 10 secs
- mild engine or tranny whine at about 45 mph

thanks!

how new are we talking about? Like 2005 or 2006 new, or older civic that you just bought?

If it is new, take it in for warranty work. that is if you are still in the warranty period or purchased a warranty.

Just go to the dealer and talk with a service advisor and explain your issues. tell them in detail what is wrong, that way they can try and figure out the problems.

well if its a 2005, it should still be under the factory warranty. Set up an appointment at the local honda and take it in.

Yeah, I find just being nice to the mechs and patient is the best. Everybody believes they are the busiest person around (and mechanics are generally busy people), so I just go in expecting to be there for a long time. I find that if you are nice, they generally do a better job too. But it's all under warranty so you won't have any problems with most of that.

Some of the door gaps arent straight, make sure no one hit your car to make that happen, warranty does not cover accident damage, and you car steers to the right, its your alignment, it happens every once in a while, u need to get your tires aligned and maybe even rotated

If the car continues to pull to the right, have the tranny checked, it's been known to be a sign of a bad auto tranny

EDIT*** bad tranies generally start to whine a little too when the pulling starts.

Good idea. thanks !!

Something is definately up. I drove a new one like mine and a 2002 and both of them don't pull right... the only torque steer I felt was if I floored them it would pull just slightly to the left.

They said the toe was perfect on all the wheels.. I guess it might be camber or something or that tranny. I'll keep you guys posted to what I come up with.

not a mark on the car... I just wonder if the car was a little un-strait when they put it together ??

Mine has pulled to the left ever since i hit a curb last winter. I took it in for an alignment and for about a day it felt brand new now its back to pulling, its not that bad, but i get new tires soon so ill get another alignment, then. I hope i did'nt bend a control arm or something.
I also had the uneven door thing as well, its only the drivers side door, it used to really bother me, but i kinda let it go, it was real minor, probably not as bad as yours.

thanks!
- the dealer said the door gaps are not adjustable. Bummer. I kind of hung on the one door to fix it a little on one side. The other side it just going to stay that way I guess

- finally got this issue resolved. It was a bad tire. I had to replace one tire and move my tires in the spots that seem to balance the car out. Weird.

- the A/C still blows warm. - I figured out that is does it when i am acceleration medium to hard. Goes back to cold ones my speed evens out. Anyone else experience this ?

- still not sure I believe the dealer that the tranny whine is normal. Seems kinda loud to me. The dealer said it's the fluid in the tranny moving.
