My civic is loud, in a bad way...

Hey. Just had a few issues that have come up with my civic and noise lately. Anyone have these problems?

1)There is the ever-present suspension squeak. It's really pretty faint now, though, and with the radio up, I can't hear it. Doesn't really bother me anymore.
2)My steering wheel has a BAD squeak whenever I turn it. Now, when I say bad, I don't mean a deafening squeal. That would signify a big problem of some kind. This squeak sounds more like rubber-on-rubber or something similar. Anyway, not really loud, but I can hear it even if the radio is on at a decent level. SUPER ANNOYING...
3)Clutch pedal squeaks on engage/disengage. Probably just needs a little lube somewhere...
4)Alright, this one comes from outside the car. If I'm idling, and not on the clutch (like at a drive-thru), there's a pulsing, repetitive squeal coming from the engine bay. Sounds like a squeaky belt. Goes away if I get on the clutch.

Any help appreciated. Also, ridicule accepted, as I know some of this stuff is common sense for anyone who knows more than I do about cars. It's good for me

Sounds like something off The Wizard of Oz, have you checked the steering wheel out or takin it off? Could be something just rubbing, but the outside noise sounds like a belt or something.

I don't get the wizard of oz thing...
but, no, I haven't taken the wheel off yet. I just took off the kick panels and had a peek...I don't see anything rubbing there, but that doesn't mean there's nothing rubbing in the steering column...how do you get the wheel off, anyway? I don't want an airbag to the face.

Thanks

Wizard of Oz, "Tinman squeeking" heh, there is a DIY for taking the steering wheel off, just make sure to disconnect the battery for about 30 min so the charge will go down on the airbags.

i had the same problem on my clutch for about a year. i got some mechanical lubricant and lubed the part where the clutch passes through the firewall. i havent had any trouble since. something similar to this http://www.zoomspoutoiler.com/ this is actually a great all around mechanical oil for small parts or gears.
if you use it, place a towel down so you dont get it on your carpet. squirt it on and push the pedal in and out a few times, then do it again and you should be good to go. If you think the belts might be squeaking, try to tighten them, and get some belt dressing. that will keep the rubber soft so it doesnt crack or wear out so easy.

I have #3 problem also, and I've also noticed after I installed my new exhaust piping it seems to be vibrating against something to make a really annoying sound./ I need to get that fixed.

try that lubricant that i posted about before. works like a champ. its also good if you have a squeaky pulley or any other small mechanical part. thicker and better than wd-40 because it stays put.

I know there are TSB's (technical service bullitens) for the clutch, and I think the suspension too. Search for the TSBs on this site, see if you can find these TSB's for your particular problems, then take the TSB and the car to a Honda dealer. If you have under 36k, they certianly will fix it for free, if you're over I'm not sure what they'll do, I believe it says in the TSB if they extended the warranty for that part or not. If not, the full TSB tells you the remedy for for the problem. If you have truble finding them let me know, I can try to look them up, I'll need the specific model and year form your car.

yea I have seen several sites that list different amounts of TSB's. I wonder how many there really are.

Mine comes from my insurance company, progressive list them for the customer on their webpage so that their customer can stay safe , I would imagine they are getting it from a reilable source since they are a relatively large comapny. The only problem is they jsut tell me the problem and the number, no detailed description or way to fix it, so while I know of them, I don't know how to fix them all.

sweet i looked it over and i suffered a couple of those got them fixed but it also told me how to fix my trunk rattle eventhough most of it is gone. there is a piece that holds the trunk rods to the deck and my system shook it so much the glue or welds broke so it was dangling.
