need motor #3?

My 'just-replaced' civic motor jumped time, without breaking the belt. Does this mean the valves, pistons, etc have all been bent???And basically need another new motor??!! Or, realistically, not worth the effort, time and mainly money it would need......i know youd need more info, but what would u say without it?

you need to explain this better. What does Jumped time, without breaking the belt mean? Are you saying your timing was off or something?

I think he means the belt slipped a tooth or 2. Well, the first thing "I" would do, is to reset the belt to the proper cam timing and see what happens. A quick compression check tells all. If compression is low or 0 in any cylinder, THEN you need a valvejob.

yes! thats it! it slipped time. i bought a new belt and am awaiting the replacement and compression check. I am just trying to prepare myself for the news since i think hondas have an 'interference-motor'(? i think thats what its called), which would mean like another grand, atleast.

Yes, Hondas are interference motors. Slip timing too much, and the valves get hit by the pistons.

yeah I don;t think buying a new belt is the problem. I think your problem is your tensioner.
