Can someone help me??

Hi everyone, my friend just bought a 2002 Honda Civic LX. Her car seems to have some driving issues, for one, her car is a salvaged. It has waranttee but she doesnt know wuts wrong with it. I drove it. Her car is normal in N and P, u can rev it and the engine sounds normal. But as soon as its in D, the engine starts vibrating, the whole car starts vibrating and the sound is like she has an exhaust but that is not the case. In any case, the car sounds like a Mustang when its driving, but a civic when its idling. Can someone help us direct us in a direction of what the problem might be?

Thanks a bunch,

David.

Just a few ideas... if the car is vibrating at idle, maybe the idle rpm is too low. It should be at 700rpm in neutral when warmed up.

Second, Have you looked at the engine to make sure everything looks right? A broken or loose air intake couldmake that noise when driving if the resonator is not sealed.

check your motor mounts. I had a loose rear mount once and it ran smooth in N but vibrated when I was in gear. As for the noise, check any gaskets in your exaust, look for any cracks or holes in your exaust piping. That could def cause the noise
