Civic 2004 EX max speed

Civic 2004 EX max speed
I bought a 04 Civic EX couple of months ago. Only recently did I try to see how fast I can go with the car. To my dissapointment, I cant push the car beyond 100mph, 105mph tops if I have a slight downhill. I have asked two other friends to try, and they too havent been able to get it to go any faster.
I am sure I should be able to much faster than that. At 100mph, the rpm reading is 4000, so I dont think the vtec has even kicked in by then. Has anyone had a similar problem or any suggestions what the problem could be?

Anyway, it's possible they dropped the limiter to a slower speed, OR the engine has not fully broken in yet.
I'm sure we ALL bought our Civics for their amazing top speed.

Rep Power: 358 The other day when driving against an RSX on the freeway at 5 am. I got to 110-115 at 4000 rpm. The car did something like a rev limit. More like a hiccup in acceleration. I built the speed up again and the hiccup in acceleration happened again. So I slowed down and the RSX darted off.

Rep Power: 271 Yeah, unless you take it to the track often enough, it doesn't matter if you can go >80mph. I've never pushed my car passed 150km/h (90mph), I don't think.. but then again, unless I'm on a closed track and strictly testing out top speed, I wouldn't do it on regular freeways.

i have a 03 EX 5sp and i have taken it to 122mph on the florida turnpike and on I75 from ft lauderale to naples. it gets there after a while and almost at 6100 rpms with the windows and sunroof open. 03+ EX have no rev limiter i am not sure about <02 because my friend has one and he says it only goes to 115mph i believe that when i get my intake an exhaust i will probably hit 124-5mph probably that would be redline. i ussually cruise everyday at 100 - 110 with no problem. i like driving fast just beware of cops....

Rep Power: 278 um I've done 135 in my 02 ex while I was on my way to vegas, handled quite well, kinda scary if I think about it to much, oh yeah I didnt get caught, and as for safety to others there was no one else on the road so I figured what the hell.

Rep Power: 289 It took a heck of a long time and a really, really long stretch of deserted highway, but I got my stock EX MT to 120mph on the speedo before I ran out of road. I bet if the road were longer it could have gone faster since I was gaining about 1mph for every mile or so. I was nowhere near redlining it in 5th. At speeds like that in a stock civic, every slight bump in the road makes your life flash before your eyes. I'll never go that fast in my car again. Not bad for a little four-banger, though.

I bet you can push it more than 105with ur vic too

Rep Power: 0 i drive over 100mph regularly, theres no issue with my vic reaching it and it happens rather quickly, It dosent take long or struggle much at 100+......I have an 04 civic Ex with (I/H/E) and some other goodies....
