Someone Please Tell me What This **** Is?

Ok I wish I had pictures for this, but I dont, so I will try and describe it as best as I can.

Tonight when I was checking my brakes, I had the front end jacked up and when I got underneath the car, I noticed on the driver side area, there was all this dirt and I guess oil all over the frame and on parts of the front sway bar. Now this is only on the driver side area. It looks like oil with dirt in it. But I am not sure. I had my brother look at it and he thinks something is leaking or a seal went bad or something. I checked my oil and nothing from that area is leaking, and the struts arent leaking and the cv joints are fine. Does anyone have any idea what this might be?

I am sorry I dont have pics. Just thought someone might have a general idea.

Check where you park the car over night to see if there is oil spots under it. If you find large quantities under the car, you may have a gasket or a seal that has failed.

You could of just ran over something. Sounda like a CV boot to me though. Could be very possible you have a small crack in it and just did not see the tear.

If that is the case, would it cause that much oil and **** to leak all over the place?

There's usually grease in the cv boot. But maybe you just spilled something? I've got oil, coolant, and thraany fluid all over the frame.

I would clean everything off and keep rechecking until you find if/what is leaking.

But it is only one the drivers side. Away from the oil pan and away from the tranny bolt area. It doesnt look like something was spilled or driven over, other whys it would be all over under there.

The closest I can think of to the driver's side would be the brake fluid and clutch fluid.
Have you checked them under the hood?

Your best bet is to lay a piece of newspaper or something easy enough to see if there are any leaks.

I have an automatic, so that rules out clutch fluid. And if it was brake fluid, I would think my resovior would be empty, but it is full and everything seems to work fine. Nothing seems to be leaking, but maybe it is a cv boot, I just cant see where the tear is.
