Cool No Radio Reception

I had my windows tinted and after that the radio stations didn't come in at all. I now get 2 stations. Both really really suck. Does anybody have any suggestions?

Check if the wires are still plugged in on the rear window. If it's an EX, there is a box behind the left pillar cover that controlls the antenna. Also.... check fuses. Tint should NOT affect reception since it's applied to the inside of the windows. The antenna wires would still be facing outside in relation to the tint. The only other possibility is that you have highly metallic tint, and it's shorting the antenna/defroster grid.

Or when they made the relief cuts in the tint, they cut the antenna grid lines in the window.

Is it the metal based tint? I dont remember the name but there is some tint film that has some metal in it which causes reception problems.

Funny thing is that I have metal based film, and no reception problems at all.

Not according to the manual, but I'll doublecheck and post.

Okayyyy.... the coupe has an active antenna module behind the left pillar, the sedan a passive one under the rear deck visible from inside the trunk.

I'd check all the connections on the rear glass. If all is tight, then maybe it IS the tint.
What kind of tint is it anyway?

I got limo grade tint in the rear, and my reception went down the hole. So it probably is your tint becuase I checked the connections for my antenna, and they were plugged in.

I took the car into the dealer and had it looked at. They told me all was fine. Just thought I would ask and see if anyone had suggestions. Thinking of possibly doing a rear roof mounted antenna like on VW's.

Spring for satellite radio like XM if you can. The antenna looks cool and if a station sucks, there's several million more to choose from.
