Hey guys...just noticed that my 02 LX 5spd started making this funny soudn when the clutch is engaged, when the clutch is disengaged(pedal is pushed down) the sound goes away...i let my dad hear it and he told me it might be my release bearing....is this a real bad thing?? how much would be an estimate for this repair?? would it be adviseable to drive the car still?? btw all i have done is a neuspeed sport drop, AEM sri and hks exhaust...i dunno how i could have beaten up the release bearing that bad though since i dont do reverse doughnuts and i've only taken her to the track 1 time.....and i thought honda trannys were supposed to be durable...

If you ride your clutch pedal, you will wear out the throwout (or release) bearing really fast. On any car. But even if you don't drive hard, these tranny's are not very durable. And.... sometimes a bearing was just bad to begin with.
