01civic wont start.

The battery and oil light is on with key at START II position. When I turn the ignition, everything sounds normal except the engine will not turn over. Any idea what might be wrong?

thanks,

ophion.

Dead battery? Do your headlights turn on and if they do, are they bright or faint? If bright then you should have enough juice to start up. If not then it could be your battery.

Have your battery checked by a shop. By your description, sounds like your battery doesn't have enough juice to crank the motor.

I'll check the battery when I get home. Maybe my sis left the lights on over night...cross my fingers.

thanks,

ophion

Finally got the engine started...and had no problems getting it started after that. I asked my sister what she last did to the car and she tells me she just moved the car, sitting in the driveway for over 5 hours, back into the garage around 7pm. The temperature dropped quite a bit in Toronto last night and this morning. My sister's quick trip probably cause moisture to form inside the engine, and freezing on some sensor over the course of the night, causing the engine not to start up. I hope that's what happened. Anyways, thanks for the help.
