engine starting problem

My 2003 civic is for the first time ever having trouble starting. About 2 months ago I put on a alarm/starter combo into my car. Would the installation of the starter have anything to do with the engine stalling? Could it been installed incorrectly? When I use the remote starter, it struggles to start and then stalls out. I have never had that happen when I manually start the car. But I have slowly leaned towards the remote starter when I leave to go somewhere. I only start it while I'm walking to the car.

The weather here is not too cold either. It was 5 degrees celsius out today, so I'm ruling that out.

The "maintenance required" light turned on recently, but i checked the manual and it says that it will blink for 2 secs everytime you start the car. It will do that once it has reached 12,500 kms. Which I have. (13,000 km)

I'm probably going to call Honda and ask them to check the car out. So I'm asking you 7thgen gurus to give me a heads up before I go there.

Please help a brother out
