Exclamation my equipment got exchanged!!!

Hey I would like to hear that you will do if it happens to you:

I brought my car for brake inspection last friday because there is a huge grinding noise and feel when i press my brake, this is especially noticeable when i am on downhill slope. They did a road test but they said the brake pad and its brake component is good so there is nothin to worry about. (BTW, i still get that grinding noise and getting worst where it happen during normal flat road!)

Anyway, my main concern is that when I got my car back, I found out my wheel and its tire on the front right side of the car are not mine on the following day. The wheel cover was all scratched up. It seem like by hitting the curb for an extended amoutn of time. I drove it back to my dealership right away and show it to them, the guy that I was dealing with when I had my service wasn't there, so I talked to another service guy. He and one of the honda technican came out and take a look at it, when they are looking at it, they are trying to say those are mine because it looks the same (style and brand name of the tire) as the other one, but I told them the wheel cover is all scratched up and both tire and wheel has some kind of red paint on it where all of my other tires does not have it. They said they can't do anything until the technican and the service guy who were working on my car came in the this monday to solve it out. I called them up on monday and talked to the service guy that I was dealing with. He said he talked with the technican who were working on my car and said that on last friday it was awefully quiet, and there is no similar type of my car (02 civic coupe lx) around there, so there is no chance they got exchanged. In fact, I am absolutely sure they don't belong to mine cause all of my wheel cover are not scratched at all! He suggested to me I should bring it to down to dealership and let him take a look. Also, I have already talked to the service manager of the shop, he also suggested me to come down and let him take a look.

So now, I needs you guys opinion. I told them that I only want to get my original equipment (both tire and wheel cover), what would you guys think? I think they can either get me the new wheel cover (if they admitted it's their fault, but that's highly impossible) but how about the tire? During this week, I found there are more than usual vibration and noise coming from the tires, due to different trendwear and balancing. I really need you guys help cause I am going to bring my car back to them tomorrow and let the service guy see, if he can't solve the problem, I will bring it to the manager (unfortunately he is not working on the weekend). Thanks for you guys' help in advance!

go straight to the Director of Fixed Operations and talk to him if the Service Advisor / Service Manager wont help...

i brought my car in for LOF change and when i picked it up they scratched the hell out of my rim (curbed)...i talked to my Service Advisor and he said that they didnt do it...i then talked to the Service Manager and he said the same thing...but when i asked for his boss (DFO), he said that he would do whatever it takes to make the problem right...they bought me a new rim

dont settle for the bullshit answer...keep going up until you get whats deserved...if you need a new hubcap for your ride, thats nothing to them
(theres probably some in the parts dept.)

good luck!!

like falken said, keep pushing until you get what you want. if noone at the dealership complys, tell them you are taking it straight to american honda motor corp. and yes, they have wheel covers all over, well at least we do. just don't take no for an answer, if they are at fault, get what you deserve.

That is seriously messed up. At first I thought that they drove it around and messed up your cap on a curb, but if you're saying it doesn't feel right, they switched them. I don't know what you can do, cause they'll have to give you 2 new tires for it to be balanced. Just speak to the main manager about it.

When I got my fuel sender replaced, the tech spilled gas all over under my rear seats and pretended like nothing happened. You can only imagine what I did about it

Hey you guys,

I went back to the dealership's serivce department on last Satursday. The service guy who were dealing with my car was there so I brought him out to take a look. He took a look at all four the wheel, He checked the serial number of all four tires (a small four digit printed on the sidewall), and he found out they are all the same. He went around the lot and check almost everyone of the Civic's tires. The scenary is so funny that he takes the time and effort to make sure everyone of the civic has that. As for me, I took a look at other TWO civics that was just beside mine. They have different serial number on each of the cars but they have all the same serial number on all four corners. I agreed with him that I still has all my tires, he admited right away the wheel cover must have scraped or srcatched by their technican while servicing, therefore he is going to give me a brand new one instead. I was so relieved that I didn't get somebody's tire. I am quite happy that I am dealing with this service guy who is so helpful, rather than some bump doesn't not take any responsibility! Above all, thanx you guys for help and advice!
