Problem starting car
ya this is on a 5th gen lx sedan.
I have a problem starting my car. This started happening about a month ago. SOmetimes when its cold and I try to start it, I turn the key and it will click, and then i do it again, and it starts. In the past 2 days, I have tried starting the car and it will just click, so i tried it a few more times and it clicked, and then a turned it again, and it sounded like it was goin to turn over and then i turned it again and the car actually started. I dont know if it has anything to do with the battery. Prob the starter or something? I have an Alarm Siren hooked up to the battery and i dunno if that has anything to do with it. Any help is appreciated, thanks

Could be the battery. However, sometimes the honda starters do this as well. I actually had to add a helper solenoid to my last honda to fix this intermittent problem. It never, ever did it again after that. I think the voltage going from the battery all the way to the starter switch and then back to the starter itself gets weak. Bad switch, or connector maybe. But I had this on every honda so far, except my new 02. So far...
Have a garage do a load test on your battery first. The solenoid problem shows up in warm weather as well, so that's probably not what's happening to your car. BTW, Since switching to an optima battery, my cars turn MUCH faster and start right up, even after sitting for 2 or 3 months. ( I sometimes don't drive one car for a long time ) GREAT upgrade. If you DO need a battery, consider the Optima. Expensive, but worth it. They last 3 times longer than anything else, too.
