this idle problem im having happens regardless if the car has just been started or driven for a while... and my engine oil is fine its level and i changed it just 1.5k miles ago..iand the tranny fluid just changed 10 miles ago yes 10 miles... currently have 4k miles total on the car..i bought it brand new from the dealership... i know i should bring it to teh dealer ship but i can guarantee that they will have to probably tear into the transmission to find the problem and take forever and i hate it when my car is not with me and in the hands of someone else, who agrees??, i woulod rather ask you expert civic owners becuase we have first hand experience with our cars..thanks your respond is always welcomed

I don't anyone here will actually be able to help you with this problem.
Seriously, just drop it off at honda and have someone over 21 accompany you. They should give you a free loaner car for as long as they take to fix it.

Sounds like it could be tranny related.. Did it idle rough before the ATF was changed? At a minimum I'd double check the ATF level per the Owners manual. When your in neutral or park, the torque converter is still spinning, just not fluid coupling the power to the tranny internals. When you put it in drive, the tranny and torque converter now have a load on it and smooths out the idle. It could a bad torque converter thats out of balance, bad ATF pump or a some other internal part. Also dont rule out a bad motor mount either, its possible.
