I think the coupes are made in the U.S./Canada, and Im almost positive that none of the sedans are built in the U.S., all are built in Japan and other asian countries, so you may be right about Thailand if you drive a sedan. And by the way, Thailand has high quality manufacturing and work force. I had to do a business study on the nation and its business practices for the past few months for college. So no, its not anything like a Daewoo. And besides, with today's automated assemblies, where its built has very little to do with the quality. I.E. a civic made in Japan VS. the same civic assembled in Thailand.

I believe the coupe was primarily designed for the North American market. Seems only the US and Canada have a real market for Civic coupes. So for the 7th gen, the sedan was planned and designed in Japan, and the coupe was planned and designed in the US... if I'm not mistaken.

My VIN starts with M
In Australia we dont get the coupe or the 3 door.
We get the 1.7l seden GLI 88KW and the 1.7L Vtec 5 door hatch Vi 96KW
I wish the sedan came in VTEC but i reckon it looks beter than the 5 door. I reckon i'l just turbo it later. I drove both models and i couldnt tell the difference, mayb the hatch weighs more i duno.
Plus her in aus we have a series 2 model. Its got a different front bumper, clear indicators up front, clear reverse/indicators at the back and clear side markers. Also has different interior and sterring wheel.
