Advance auto parts is the culprit. I thought I would give them some business and save on shipping.
Got the PAB627 part number. Parts in the box are TOO LARGE a diameter and have different holes for the hardware. That number was used in all trims and in 2004 and up cars
The manager that is typically resourceful dug around and found a set for a 2003.
Well they are the right diameter and have holes in the right places but they are THICKER.
The Wearever hardware kits arent very good either. I grabbed a hold-down pin with pliers and SMASHED it. They are probably soft enough to eat.
I know I didnt have this problem the first time I changed them.
Any chance someone has the RIGHT part number?

You want shoes that fit on the first try? Get factory parts.
Hondas drum brakes usually last so damn long we never have to replace them.
Over 200,000 miles on original shoes is the norm here.
Front pads vs. rear shoes ratio (my guess) 5:1 or more.
Our parts department doesn't keep ANY brake shoes in stock LOL.

Late follow-up.
Despite ezones well wishes, I still installed Centric aftermarket shoes and hardware.
They fit VERY well and the hardware was good quality as well.
