Texas Tinting Laws?

Hey everyone, I looked on the internet and found out the laws for tinting your car windows in Texas. It said the following.

1988 Model Year and after :
AS-1 / 35% Film / 35% Film / 20% Film / 1988

From what I have read, the front side can be at most a 35% tint, and the rear can by anything. I don't really like having one section a different tint, so if I get 35% tint all around, would that look good? Or if you all disagree and think I should get the rear alot darker than the front, do you all have any pics of civics like that so I can make a decision?

I have a red civic and 35% on all the side windows and the darkest I could go (don't know the %) on the very back. It looks good and you can't tell the difference. I would make one suggestion though..... don't tint the back side windows darker than the front side windows, it just look right IMO.......

Thats what im talking about, I don't like that front-light rear-dark stuff. What about the front window? Do you think I should just get 35% on that too?

I'm not sure I understand what you're talking about, are you talking about the front windows that roll down?

I have 35% on the windows that roll down in the front, 35% on the small side windows in the back and whatever the legal limit is on the very back. It looks good and it makes the other tint look darker.

anything under 15%, up here in seattle its 35% but never got caught, cops got used to it already...due to the fact that so many cars comes with factory tint...i have a black car thats why i got 15%, hell i'd go for 5% if i can choose again

Front windshield is illegal. 35% on driver and passenger. And you can have it as dark as you want on the back. I have 20% all around. Its pretty rare for cops here in texas to stop for illegal tint here because its so damn hot. Your problem with illegal tint will be when its time to get the inspection sticker.

here in NY, i think the tint on the front windows is either completely illigal or 25%. I got my windows tinted 20% and i got pulled over a week later and the trooper told me that they were all illigal...which was def a load of crap, because the back windows dont have a limit as far as i know.....stupid troopers But anywho, does anyone know what the limit is in NY?

The whole front windshield is illegal to tint. You can tint the top 5 inches of it though. 35% on the front 2 windows is required and you can have it as dark as you want on the rear windows and rear backglass. Hell you can spray paint it black.
