Aftermarket exhaust cleansing.

I took my Skunk2 exhaust system off and the muffler is kinda dirty (also has some black mucky shyt on the top portion of the tip). Anything I can do to clean the outside of this thing? I dunno what the tar stuff is but now I'm not worried about it unless...).

I always wash my muffler when I wash the car. Then, every so often, I polish it with eagle one aluminum polish or Klasse all in one or something of that nature. Just wash it and use some polish for wheels or chrome....It should shine right up.

easiest way to clean the exhaust is to spray some all-wheel cleaner on it when you wash your car, even if you let it go for a few months, just spray a generous amount on, take a wheel cleaning brush over it, and let it sit for a few mins, when it starts to run off, just rinse, and tada!! just like new.

i just use some stainless steel cleaner, i stole it from work, but you can pick it up anywhere. just spray it on and wipe with a rag. stays lookin for awhile, but i would do it after each wash.

A friend of mine cleans his with Fiberglass resin remover. It's basically strong acetone.
