Mothers Clay Bar
Ok...I searched and I didn't quite find the answer. If I am mistaken, then please feel free to flame me and direct me to a link which contains my answer. Thanks in advance.
I bought the Mothers Clay Bar Paint Saving System which comes with a clay bay, cleaner wax, and showtime instant detailer. After reading the instructions, I came to the conclusion that I don't need any other product.
But when I read all the threads, you all talk about using Meguiar's wax and other things. So my questions are:
1. Do you guys just buy the clay bar only and use other products with it? I could only find the "system" so I'm a little confused.
2. Am I good using the 3 products I bought in the set? I don't need anything else right?
Thank you!

Yeah, staying with a "system" whether it be Mothers' Or Meguiars' is a good choice. Another thing to keep in min dis sometimes parts of the system can be substituted IMO. For instance, I use 3M Swirl mark remover (grey bottle), the Show Car Glaze, then Gold Class wax immediately after I use a clay bar and the results are amazing...so do what works for you, the more you do it, the better the combos you will find...good luck!

I would clay the car while soaping the car down. I dont use the spray for claying, I use it as a detailer spray.
What I do is I wash the car once to get all the surface dirt off.
I then hose it off and soap down a section of the car at a time.
I go over each section with the clay, including the windows.
I then hose the car off and re soap the whole car to remove any excess clay.
I then hose the car off and dry.
After I clay the paint I usually want to nourish it. So I use either Mothers Sealer glaze or Meguires glaze.
I wipe it on in a back and forth motion and let it dry for 30 minutes. I then wipe it off in a back and forth motion.
Next I wax the whole car. let it dry to a haze and wipe it off.
To complete this process I wipe the whole car down with a microfiber towel. This will remove any haze that the wax caused and any wax you may of missed.

a lot of companies are starting to cater to the "lazier" people, that dont want to spend 10 hours to wash, apply cleaner, polish, and wax, so they combine two or three products into one, ie. "one step wash/wax" (while it does wax your car, its a very thin coat and only lasts till u wash it again. or cleaner wax, which is a combination of the first and third steps of the meguiars 3 step system. dont get me wrong theyre good products if you are just doing it between waxings, or are the kind of person that doesnt HAVE to have the show car finnish.
as for civicdude's last post, all that washing and waxing is great! Unless of course youre under a drought!
