Washing a Black Civic

I recently got my car and i have washed it twice. But i have failed at washing the car very good. Therez alwayz swirl marks left, or water spots, and it doenst look very clean after....can som1 give me a detailed paragraph of washing a car and i want to wax it next time but i do not know how to. i've heard there is a certain way you must do it. what products should i use to wash the car?

Wash with Meguiar's Gold Class car shampoo, then do the Meguiar's Three Step system..go to www.meguiars.com for the info...
