Tips - Removing Tint

I have started removing my tint on my Honda with a fabric steamer and a knife, I was able to remove the hatch window no problem but then once I got to the side windows the tint was leaving adhesive residue on the windows and I am not sure why. I did the same process on the back as I did on the side windows

I have tried everything to remove it and nothing is working. Please can anyone help.

Thanks

Re: Removing Tint

I used racing fuel to take tint adhesive off once...but since race fuel isnt readily available...goo gone would probably work well also try using a razor blade instead of a knife...works much better.

Np and also i find that ronsonol lighter fluid (the stuff that goes in your zippo) works well too, used it to clean some gunk off my amp that goo gone couldn't get.

Re: Removing Tint

The "goo-be-gone" worked well for me.

Re: Removing Tint

I actually used windex (they make an "automotive" version). It made the residue turn into a goo that pretty much just wiped off.

Re: Removing Tint

I read something on another forum about putting ammonia on the window then putting a black trash bag on the window and leaving the car in the sun and I guess the glue adheres to the bag. It's winter right now though, would turning my defrosters on work??

Re: Tips - Removing Tint

With a heat gun and a razorblade the tint should come off in one peace if you're lucky. For getting the residue off what works really well is spray it with WD40 and let it soak for a few minutes and wipe it off.
