ya I've used the stuff. I bought the box from mothers which has the caly bar and sprayer along with a small bottle of cleaner wax. Somewhere around $15-20. I really didn't think it was worth it. After washing my car I used it once, it didn't seem to do too much. It did remove some minor tar and bug marks, which could have been taken off just as easy with another product for less money.

The bar is claimed to remove contaminants from the paints surface (since our cars are pretty new shouldn't have much) I just wanted to try it. It tells you to spray the quick shine stuff on and rub the bar up and down the car, them buff out. I wouldn't really bother with the stuff, it was a waste of money for me. The quick detailer spray does work well, but if the car isn't completely clean it can leave streaks, (I found I just had to go over the car twice it make a real difference)but then the stuff is supposed to be used when you have some minor dust on the car. I think it's best used if your at a car show or something in which others will be viewing your car. I haven't seen the meguire's stuff out, of course I haven't really been looking for it either. You can try it if you want, but I wouldn't really bother, just stick with washing and waxing.

Mothers clay bar is alot better than Meguiars clay bar system. If your surface is not perfectly smooth than you must use a clar bar to pull all the contaminants off. If you don't you'll be sealing in all that stuff when you wax. Most cars even new will feel a little rough because it has been left out side.

don't buy the mothers clay bar it's a waste of money. I've used it and it doesn't work very well, gets some contaminants out, but not all. I still have to check out the clay magic clay bar, which i've heard a lot of good reviews from.

i bought the mothers because Megiuars was no WHERE to be found well i have had the car for almost a year now and it sat outside through half her life.....so it had a few contaminants that got on when i had some body work done so i used it and it made the surface as smooth as glass it made a difference!!! im still willing to try Megiuars simply because ALL there products are high quality so well see.

I have used Zaino's clay bar and it's awesome. The best to tell if you need to use a clay bar on your car it to rub the back of your hand on the car. If it feels like glass then you don't need it. I *highly* doubt that 2001 Civic's have been exposed that much to require that kind of treatment. Zaino's is the only way to go. I have tried Meguiar's before and it's absolutely worthless.

i gotta say, ive used the mothers clay bar system and it does work. ill tell ya what happened. over the course of a few weeks at woork i got some sort of overspray particles ALL OVERmy paint. see where i work about 600 or so yards away they are building some sort of warehouse type thing, and the fire retardant spray must have drifted through the air and on to everyones cars. well the stuff doesnt wash off, so i tried the stuff, yeah its a little expensive, but it does work, see, the spay particles made my paint feel similar to sand paper,(on my windows too, ate up my wiper blades, but got it off the windows w/ a razor), anyway, the stuff does work. i could go aon a little longer but i wont, thanks for listening.
