Rep Power: 0 chrome rims and salt
i just put my rims on yesterday... i washed them with soap and water and after they were all clean i noticed that around the rim there were these wat looked like salt spots... i only had my rims on for a light snow early in december... anyways i read that if u clean with aluminum foil and coke it would get rid of the stains... well the stains came off for the most part but not all of it... there is still some left and they have like a texture to them, its kinda rough... ... im really pissed because im afraid its permanent
i was just wondering if anything will get rid of this and if not will they rust eventually? thanks guys

Rep Power: 0 you may want to use a clay bar (just like you would on the paint), as it should remove the rough sandpaper texture. try doing that, and follow up with the product below (autozone carries it, for around $5).

Rep Power: 252 If your rims are just bare chrome then then what rckdrmr said is the way to go. If you have a clearcoat on them or something, then the aluminum polish wont work.

Rep Power: 252 Other than actually re-chroming it, you will have a hard time matching it up. I saw one time a clear coat in an aerosol can intended for wheels. That will at least put a layer over it, I forget what company made it. Otherwise, re-chroming is your best bet.

This is why you never drive in snow with any type of aftermarket wheel, my friend. Good job cleaning them with soap and water though, never use anything else. Im a metal finisher, I know these things
