How often to get a full detailing?

How often to get a full detailing?
I was curious if there was a guideline on how often a car should be detailed? I get my car washed (touchless wash, hand dry, interior, etc) about every other weekend, but I want to get the full hand wash/wax/detail done on occaision and was curious if there was any opinion on how often. Once a year? Once every six months?

Rep Power: 396 Most of my clients have there car fully detailed twice a year. Once before the winter and once after the winter. They then maintain it by having me hand wash and ax the car inbetween...or just hand wash it. I don't recommend going to a car wash, even if it is touchless. The car wash uses a very strong chemical to clean the paint. This chemical strips the wax and if there isnt any wax on the paint, it dulls the paints finish. If you are going to have your car washed then bring it to a detailing shop that has hand washes, or a car wash that does hand washes.
