Removing A Scratch

Somebody rubbed something across ny hood and put about a 4 inch scratch on it. THe scratch isn't very deep at all and at first sight I thought I could wax it out, but when I tried it didnt work at all. So I went out and bought some McGuires Scratch X scratch remover and that helped it a little bit, but it is still easily noticable in the right light. So I was wondering if anybody knew any other products that might work or something else to do to get it out. Thanks.

civicdude will become famous soon enough
You can try some 3M rubbing compound. It is safe for all finishes. Just rub it in good until the scratch comes out. After you use this product you will want to wax the surface because the paint will become dull in this area. After you wax and remove the wax the paint will be glossy again. If this doesnt work I would recommend bringing your car to someone that has a high speed polishing machine and let them remove the scratch for you. I have one but you I think you live a little too far for me.

Use gas or gasoline, after you get it off, clean it with soap and wax it!
