tips on cleaning chrome wheels

don't worry, its not on my civic! but, i wash my friends car, he has giovannia genoa and it has a lot of those rivet things.. so dust gets stuck on the rims quite well. Anyone have tips on how to remove it from chrome? I've tried goo off and just regular soap.. works only to a point, but theres still a lot of dust on the wheels after i'm done. Furthermore, he recently got into an accident and curbed his rims really good... any know how much it would cost to color match the lips of 4 19' chrome rims to pewter? (only the lips are messed up) thanks

I just use water with a little wheel cleaner in it. Clean by hand then hit with polish.

I got some new rims not chrome but I really take care of em, I bought the 3 step michilin rim care package

step 1: rim cleaner
step 2: tire shine
step 3: Brake dust repellant (makes brake dust easier to come off)
one bonus michiliene microfiber towel

keeps my rims looking like new.

as far as redoing rims, its really really really expensive, may aswell try and sell em cheap and buy new rims
