Cost of getting a car buffed
I just bought my '99 Si and its black so you can see swirl marks, and a couple minor scratches so i want to get it buffed. Does anyone know about how much it costs to get a car buffed profesionally.
buy a pc, and learn to do it yourself. not only will you learn how to detail your car, you'll save money right from the first time you buy/use it (rather than pay someone). there are alot of good detailing sites, that i've learned quite a bit from. here are some links ----> www.meguiarsonline.com & www.autopia.org 
depending on the condition of the paint, and what needs to be done to it (wetsand defects, clay, polish, wax, etc...) i would imagine at least a $100, and that's not considering if they work by the hour or not. here's a success story that some guy did, and only charged a $100! ---->

I also used the PC.
I have a friend that had his 86 MB 500 buffed out. I think he said around $150.00

Rep Power: 0 You are looking at probbaly closer to $200 for swirl removal. You want to find a place that will remove the swirls and not just fill them in with some high filling wax or something.
As for the Porter Cable. It is easy for beginners but you have to know your products well. I see too many people having trouble with the PC but in fact it is not the PC but the operator not knowing how to use the products. The two most common problems are they don't work the product in long enough and they use too much to start with.

Rep Power: 0 i just bought the meguiar's dual action buffer for 149.99 with 6.5" pad and free NXT ESP wax, my car ain't that dirty and it rained on me when I was halfway done, but after 3hrs later it was worth it... I took some pictures last night and this morning... I will post some feedback and and photos tonight... and I let you know what I think...
