Paints messed up

I took my car for a car wash today and I come back home to give it a nice wax and I see my paint is all ruined. It feels as if theres no clearcoat and very rough. I tried waxing it off but it wont fully come off. Theres some wierd glitter like things in my paint that wont come off. I tried clay bar and 2 different kinds of cleaner wax still not comming off. Was it because of the car wash place I took it or what. I usually wash it my self but they gave me a free car wash with the oil change. Plz help if its the car washes place that ruined it how would I tell them to fix it?

For one, your clear coat did not magically just come off. It is still there, trust me. Two, you can not "wax" anything of. Wax is just a protective coat and has no cleaning or polishing abilities. that weird glitter in your paint sounds like the factory metal flake/ pearl to me. Pictures would help a great deal to understand what you are talkign about. As far as taking it threw the car was...they are not responsible and won't give you crap. There is probably a big disclaimer sign somewhere on the car wash. Was it the kind of wash that has the spinny things slap your car and the brushes and stuff? If so, NEVER take your car through a car wash that touches your car. Always do it yourself or use a touchless.

No it was a touchless car wash. And no the glittery stuff arent the factory pearls in it. Its very different. Its a real pain in the *** to make it smooth too.

What clay bar are you using? Sounds like possibly rail dust in your paint. We had a white Regal come in with rail dust and it took a good time with two people and clay to get it out...and lots of elbow grease.

sounds like overspray to me. Paint overspray will make you're car feel really rough, and is a bitch to get off. Have u had ur car painted recently?

I still think it is rail dust or similar.

Many many different ways. Raildust / brake dust / industrial fallout can be caused by many things. I see a lot of this on cars that were transported by tran and spent some time in rail yards or even people who live next to the train tracks or rail yards. But break dust and being next to certain factories can have similar effects. The best way to get rid of it is using a clay bar. We had a white Regal come in with this problem ( http://www.danase.com/gallery/album09 ) and it tooks us a good time of just rubbing the paint with clay bars and lots of elbow grease. Here is some good information for you: http://www.properautocare.com/classi...painconov.html Hope this helps for your situation.
