I'm travelling to a show this month and I'm worried about bug and stone damage on the way there. Because I'm travelling the day before I plan to get the car detailed the day before....Here's what I'm doing so far but any other ideas or tips would be very helpful

1) Taking off front bumper and puttin on the OEM bumper for the trip. Carry the good one in the car.

2) Someone suggested using body shop painters tape to cover the nose of the hood.

See, I don't know if I'll have anywhere to really go over the car with great detail once I get there so I need to protect it as best I can.

Blue 3M tape is your friend! That tape won't harm your paint and comes off easily, good stuff!! Put it on the backs of your mirrors and on the hood and on the nose of the hood. Bring rags and something to spray on the exterior to get stubborn bugs off and what not. Something to clean the windows is good too.
