window scratch
window scratch
So, I wake up yesterday morning to go to work and spot some bird crap on my windshield.
Tried to get rid of it with the wipers but no luck, so I grap a wad of papertowel, spray some windex and tried wipping it off, but it was still there. Getting pissed, I started scrubbing at that sucker like there was no tommorow.
Finally, I was bird poo free, but as soon as I sat in the car, I noticed abunch of small scratches in the window.
So now when I drive I can't seem to keep my eyes on the road cause I keep staring at the scratches.
Any Advice or Products I could use to get rid of them. Thanks

I was looking for more of a do it yourself kinda thing. I found this on a site, hope it works.
If you have a scratch on a glass or metal surface that you would like to hide then this recipe will make an effective surface filler for metal or glass surfaces.
To make ¼ pint/150ml
2 floz/60ml glycerin
4 tablespoons jeweler’s rouge
2fl oz/60ml water
Place the ingredients in a medium-size glass or plastic jar and mix into a smooth paste. Apply the mixture to scratched areas with a clean cloth and rub in. Rinse with clean water. To fill deeper scratches, repeat the process several times. Store in a tightly covered jar.

Use this to get the scratch out...don't just fill it in, it won't last.

You could even try and use a mild car polish but test a spot first. Oh, and a buffer will go much faster than trying this by hand.

thanks for all the replies but I don't care about the scratch anymore. My mom drove the car, heard something bang against the windshield but didn't notice anything. I get in the car and see a crack on the passenger side about 8 inches long starting from the bottom going up. She said it happened when she drove under a bridge, so I'm guessing it was probably kids that shot a rock or something. So ya, I'm getting the windshield replaced. Thanks again.
