Rep Power: 0 Should I put additional layer of clear coat?
Hello Peeps! I have a black '03 Civic Sedan. Lately I was forced to have my car washed by car wash shops and damn! the car was clean but now my car have swirl marks and light scratches all over. Since my car is only 3 months old, i'm sure the damage is only on the top layer of the paint (clear coat). I plan to have my car rubbed down and paint the car with a thicker layer of Clear Coat paint. If I do this, will my car finish still be considered original?? Should I do this?? Help guys! Thanks!

Rep Power: 0 About $250 for everything =)
Its cheap right? My only concern is if my paint will still be considered original and if the durability of the car's finish will be compromised. (Only the clear coat will be buffed to remove the fine scratches then additional clear coat will be put all over)

no no wait a few years at least to think abotu something like that. you have to think about things. your car is black, it is bound to show all imperfections. just polish and wax it... get with some of that megiuars scratch x too.
are you going to spend 250 every time you see a swirl mark? if you want something to stay perfect, you have to work hard at it, not throw money at it.

Rep Power: 279 ^^^ seriously. Its going to be hard to be fully satisfied with your car. Its black and will always show imperfections more than any color. I know, my car is black. Unless the swirl marks are really bad, i dont think you should do it because it would not be long 'till they come back. Then again if your good in the $$ department, go for it and just take care of it more this time. You should always wash it yourself. Nobody else will care about your car other than you.

Rep Power: 350 Try a clay bar system and maybe some swirl remover and it should lessen thoose swirls a lot if not all depending on how deep they are. I wouldnt worry bout clear coating it again.
