Rep Power: 0 At the dealership I work at, the only thing that we cover is if there is an aftermarket intake. Other than that, we use a degreaser solution and spray down the engine, then brush the grime. Then rinse it very well. Usually we take a air hose and blower and dry the engine, and wires off.
For shows, after cleaning my engine I use a detail spray and spray the plastic and hoses to make them shine.

Rep Power: 0 Good GOD the engine bay! I'm a little extreme when it comes to cleaning this area, but here is a list of stuff I use and what i use it on.
Meguiars Gold Class Wax
- Painted/Cleared Coil Cover
- Underside of the hood
- Anywhere else in the engine bay I see a painted area
Blue Magic Metal Polish
- AC lines
- Top of radiator
- Steering arms
- Aftermarket aluminum intake
- Any other aluminum parts; use your judgement
Black Magic Tire Gloss
- Rubber lines
- Fuse Box
- Battery & Cover
- Factory intake system
- Black wire loom
- Anything else rubber or black; use your judgement
**When using Black Magic Metal Polish remember anything you polish will need to be polished more often then if you didn't polish it. You will remove metal protectant (goldish/yellow color) off peices of metal that contains it. Your final result will be a mirror like finish that will last for months. You will want to wipe off polished peices off with a wet rag if water spots accur on the peices over time. To keep that like just polished look; polish each peice at lest one every 2 weeks.
**When using Black Magic Tire Gloss I always apply with my hand. Yea thats right; Spray it in the palm of your hand or finger tips and apply on the desired area(s). Your hand works best because a reg will want to absorbe the gloss unlike you skin. It's a great trick and a little glow will go a long way using this method. If you want to do a large area with the gloss use a foam tire applicator which will spread the gloss evenly and use less than a rag would.
Your final result should look like this:

Rep Power: 350 I hear that simple green works but personally i keep the engine bay so clean that i never have to use it. If you clean it every time you wash you really wont have to worry
