Best Turbo
Best Turbo
Hey guys. I want to turbo my 05 civic and was looking for the best turbo for the value. I cant seem to find to many available for this car since the dezod kit was discontinued. The only kit i really can find is the TSI extreme turbo kit and i havent heard good things about it. What other kits are out there?
Re: Best Turbo
Those are the only two. There are quite a few used available in the FS section (cough.. like mine..cough). Other than those two options, you are stuck piecing one together, and either custom making parts like the manifold or again, finding used. The TSI turbo kit isn't too bad, but you MUST ditch the 'fuel system' they provide and get bigger injectors and a real engine management system. In terms of best bang for the buck, you are back to used. Like I said, there are many available pretty cheap, and if you shop around, you should be able to piece together a kit for under 3k even with k-pro.

Yea, in my opinion your best bang for buck is to find a used dezod kit like I'm doing. Parts can be had for pretty cheap even in really good condition. My only problem is finding a K-Pro for sale.

Alright so i got the tsi t28bb kit and got the fuel system downgrade. But they shipped the fuel system anyways but i never paid for it
My Tuner thinks we should try their fuel system anyways. Is this a good idea or should i just buy the aem fic anyways. Also whats better the ngk wideband or the aem wideband o2 air fuel monitor.

Re: Best Turbo
DO NOT use tsi fuel system. your best bet would be this: and find a new tuner

Yeah... don't use the TSI fuel system at all. Don't even try it. Grab some RSX 310 cc injectors or some srt-4 injectors if you are going for more than 180 ish HP. AEM F/iC is a decent choice, I had good results with it.
As for your wideband question, Innovative widebands have the most accuracy and fastest sampling rate. AEM as a second choice. We always recommend Innovative to customers at the shop.

Re: Best Turbo
yeah i think so. i rode in one and he had it on a switch so it would only stay on when going to boost. that fmu was so loud you could hear it over the engine.

Re: Best Turbo
their might be a new mani and down pipe setup out on the market before Import Alliance this summer
and the SF kit and fuel system was revolutionary for the time that it came out in when still know one new anything about these ecu's. their intercooler piping kit is still the best by far but impossible to find. TSI fuel system is crap the only real safe way is a full standalone but pricey (worth it IMO saves you so much headache and money in the long run)
