Is the armrest too small???

on my 2k2 si/ex coupe the armrest came standard and i think its too short. i'm 5'9 and to be comfortable on the seat while driving i can't rest my arm and hold the wheel at the same time. its useless unless i drive with left arm. after so much left hand driving my left arm is feeling tired even though i'm not driving.

ya the armrests are pieces of crap, something else Honda can charge us for, no point in using it cause my arm can't fit comfortably on it. The thing is just too small

My arm fits ok I just don't like the fact that you can't adjust. I kinda pimp a little and the armrest sticks up in the air somewhat! That's what pisses me off. Well, that and when a passenger decides that I should share it!

Yeah... damn passengers think that they can share MY armrest. Passengers are not worthy of an armrest!!!! I like MY armrest. It'll be even better when I get it covered with some nice supple leather.... mmmmmm....

The armrest seems OK to me...

i find it to be too small, but mostly my hand is on the shifter anyway. I also don't like it when passengers think it's thier armrest, my car, my armrest

I love the armrest. I always have my arm on it but every once in a while somebody will put it up and then I get in my car and go to put my arm on it and sorta fall because it's not there. it's kinda embarassing but oh well. The cloth on it's kinda gettin' wore out already too.

I'm thinking of taking mine off...the thing is useless; too small and interferes with shifting!

would it be worth takin it off

i mean if you took it off there'd be like a bunch of cuts and holes in the fabric just exposed

just put it up and forget about it, i guess

Damn FURY, you're right...this morning I decided to take off the armrest....OMG theres an ugly cut in the fabric you can plainly see!

I guess the only alternative would be to get the seat re-upholstered...or get new seats! The wifey has put her foot down on any further spending on more car stuff, though

I like the arm rest. I put my elbow on it and when I shift, or when I'm adjusting my EQ. It's a nice little prop for my elbow. But it's to damn short for my forearm. Honda should have called it a elbow rest instead

yeah they should call it a elbow rest thats about all I can fit on it but its still nice to have, also those cup holders my old 88 Civic didn't have any. what were they thinking guess that was before they invented the 20 oz drinks

I was riding in the car today thinking about this thread and paying attention to how my arm sits on there. My arm doesn't sit on there at all! My elbow sits on the tip of it and my hand rests on the stick. It needs to be about 3 inches longer to really be useful. Although, my arm does rest pretty good once I get into fifth gear and I just rest my hand on my leg with my elbow on the armrest.

yup it certainly is an elbow rest at best, maybe we can buy a replacement one that's longer. i think for all the people that say its fine must be short, sit like a granny in the chair or really long arms, lol. i like the have my legs fully extended so only my ankles are moving to and foe the gas and brake.

I like it as a elbow rest, it should have been called that though.. mine sticks up a bit, i wish they would have made a button on it so that you can put it at the level you want it. o-well maybee it will be longer and adjustable in the next gen civics

its better for taller people because taller people have longer arms.

Size is small but the location is great....

comparing to my 94 accord with a much bigger armrest..I think 02 Civic's armrest is more comfortable even it's small
