2005 1.7L Automatic Transmission
Hi,
I have a 2005 1.7L Automatic Civic. it has 320K kms on it so not looking to spend a ton of money on it or rip it apart.
That being said it will shift into R, D D1 D2 when it is cold and you can drive about 20 feet. then as soon as it gets warm nothing engages.
There is a high pitched whine when it starts and this gets quieter and goes away completely when warmed up.
So the easy things I can do is replace the solenoids and after that I don't know.
I have replaced the fluid 2x and tried blowing air through to dislodge anything in there.
Is it worth replacing the solenoids? Can the dual linear solenoid be cleaned?
I am a youtube mechanic at best and am ok at things not too complicated.
Any advice would be appreciated.
Thanks!

P0741 is also a death code, but P0740 comes up more frequently. Some people have had success replacing the solenoid and it working a little longer but at that mileage, I suspect your transmission is toast.
