Hey everyone, for the past few months my 2005 civic with 107,000 miles on it has been popping out of 5th on longer highway journeys. the other day my shifter was making some noise when I was shifting, so I opened it up and noticed that the shifter ball was cracked in the middle - after looking at this page I saw that some other people had the same issue. i am hoping that a replacement will fix both of my issues, but I am mostly looking to fix the broken ball one. i looked at an oem one and the cheapest I found was $130 shipped. i noticed that a short shifter was available from ebay, however they were sold out. but after some more looking, it appears they have them for the 5 speed RSX and they look identical, even with different UPC numbers...anyone know if there are any differences between these two shifter assemblies??? look at links below
