No heat/overheating Again!!!

This car is driving me nuts...Had no heat and a ton of air in the system..so i replaced the thermostat and bled the system as much as possible. Its fine for about 2 weeks but comes right back. 3 times i have repeated this process. Anyone have a clue whats going on with this thing??? Its like 2 degrees here and i cant have no heat. Thanks

how does your coolant look? air in the system could be coming from a blown head gasket... but the no heat thing leads me to believe you have some blockage to your heater core.

when you bleed the air, is your heater on full blast? its kinda hard to do this in cold weather cause the car has to be hot enough to open the thermostat or you're wasting your time. but if you're saying the heat worked and now does not, its a different problem. replace the radiator cap with a new one. otherwise its either a clogged heater core (very uncommon), or a blown heatgasket. get a compression test done on the cylinders and also a coolant system pressure check. you may just have a coolant leak. is the reservoir filled to max line?

I got so pissed today that I decided to call in sick to work and figure this out. By golly i believe i did. I had the car running and happened to notice a small plume of smoke come up from the other side back of the motor. I look down and find my problem. Theres coolant leaking from either the head gasket or the water pump right at about the crank pulley. This explainns my loss of coolant/possible air in the system. I leaning towards the water pump b/c the head is alittle farther up and this is a substantial leak so i dont think the head gasket could be leaking this much and still have good compression (which it does) Looks like a new w/p timing belt job is in order for the dealer. He's gonna love me after when i hit him with this one now. Car is under warranty for another 10 days. Since i bought it this used car dealer had to rebuild the tranny, pay a mechanic to not figure out this problem, and now a new water pump and while hes in there timing belt.

oh yikes sounds like water pump. cause there are no hoses in that area and the pump would go before the head gasket usually. your car would run like poo if coolant was coming out the head like that. Heck ya waper pump under warranty right???
