P0172 with throttle Bogg

Hey everyone I figured I better start at the beginning. I recently purchased a 2003 Honda Civic with a 1.7 engine auto transmission. The car has been sitting since 2008. I put quite a bit of work just to get it to this point. The engine was replaced at some point in 2008.

Replace fuel pump assembly
timing belt, and water pump
Tuneup new coil packs
eBay injectors supposedly OEM
Electric fans
Valve cover gasket
catalytic converter
O2 sensors

So after all this car has been pretty decent, but I’ve been dealing with a hesitation on accelerating almost like a bog. The only code it throws every once a while it’s P0172. It’s definitely running rich. The plugs are sooty.
I’ve used my scan tool and a multimeter I’ve checked, and I’ve rechecked.
scan tool pick up occasionally miss fire. I don’t see any smoke from the exhaust just to throw that out there.

Map sensor 5.0 idle - 14.5kpa wot
TPS sensor .5v idle 4.8 wot no dead spots
Idol air control is clean
ECT +~10deg block temp temp gun
IAT +~ 10 deg ambient temp
CMP steady no drop signal
CKP steady no drop signal
check and set valve lash. I only found one exhaust rocker that was out of spec.
fuel pressure is 47 psi

currently I had to disconnect the o2 sensor to put the car into default or a predetermined fuel map. It runs well with very little hesitation.

I’m using a top don scan tool, which I’m kind of finding I really don’t like the platform i much prefer my snap on it’s kinda like going from my iPhone to a droid

im starting to lean towards the fuel injectors being the issue. they seem to be knock offs. My hypothesis is that they’re not metering the fuel correctly.

Any help with this issue I’m having would be much appreciated

Re: P0172 with throttle Bogg

I would think its the primary o2.
you said you changed it? When and what brand? Where did you get it from?

I changed both O2 sensors with Denso from Oreillys. Same time I swapped out the catalytic converter. The old cat was plugged up. It’s going to end up the same way unless I figure this out.

I did some testing on the primary 02 agian last night this my results

green/black good ground
black/yellow 12v
White .95-.99v
black white no ground!

so my scanner says the computer calling for the heater to be ON
so I should have the negative from computer. Next stop after work is to check negative at the computer possibly a broke wire, computer output is bad or the grounds to computer may be no good

this could explain why I can only get the 02 to fluctuate when the engine is at its peak rpm / heat
