Car coasts for a while after starting
Car coasts for a while after starting
My 2001 Civic starts fine, then after I have driven 20 meters from my driveway the engine goes almost silent and the gas pedal becomes unresponsive. It feels as if the car is out of gas though it isn't.
Then after about 5 seconds of coasting, the engine and gas pedal operate normally and everything is fine after that. The car battery is brand new. Car is well maintained.
This started happening about 2 months ago and happens about 25% of the time. By the time I reach the mechanic's shop the car is running beautifully and the mechanic says there is nothing wrong with the car. I have taken it to two shops and both say car is in excellent condition.
Anyone faced similar problems?
