P1457
P1457
Ok gang. Got the p1457 code and read the threads and I’m totally confused.
what parts near the Evap canister, other than the canister and the hoses are the usual suspects?
i see all this Evap purge solenoid shutoff bypass valve control and I think there are only really two parts and I can’t make heads or tails of the discussions or what they are called even after seeing the drawing that was posted. I looked at the drawings on Majestic and read the service descriptions and they are little help.
i replaced the part on the throttle body already, so that’s not it. I figure I would drop the canister and replace whatever is attached to it and just be done. The time and money to get a smoke test I figure would be better spent just doing parts replacement.
BUT please someone can give me a short parts list with official parts names?

Re: P1457
Found this from ezone:
Quote:
911-766 fuel vapor storage canister,
911-762 vapor canister valve
These are the CVS valve and charcoal canister parts I replace on a regular basis. They didn't include the screws though.
Quote:
911-809 vapor canister vent solenoid
I might have replaced two of these in the last 15 years.
So….
These are dorman parts, which will save me about $100
I will roll with this unless I get a different response from the forum.
