Getting a P0108. Cleaned MAP sensor and it's still in limp mode

The idle is sort of funny. I pulled the sensor and cleaned it with electronic cleaner and an air duster and put everything back. It's still giving an immediate check engine light and not letting the car go over 3k rpms.

Should I clear the codes? do I need to clear them and then see if a check engine pops back up?

I think I got my car out of limp mode awhile back just by undoing the negative terminal and waiting a minute and then putting it back. Is that a thing?

Also, I rode around in it for a minute and I'm getting about half my normal mpg. Dont worry, I'm not taking it out again.

Ordered a new part from rockauto that should be here in a week, but I'm still stressed that this isnt the actual problem or something. The sensor was fine before I took off the intake and cleaned it and the egr system.

Please help. Thanks.

Honda's don't like aftermarket sensors

Just ordered a refurbed denso off of Ebay for good measure.

How do you test electrical connections on a car to see if they're working properly?

Need to know what you should be seeing at each terminal (+12v, +5v, ground, etc) then check with a multimeter

Bought a multimeter today. Going to test them tomorrow.

Might as well test the headlight tomorrow too. Left one is out and I have no idea why either. I had to change out the ignition. Maybe that futked something up?

Voltage reading between headlights is different. One reads 12 and the other reads 9. Is this the issue with one of my lights not working? If so, where is the draw? I replaced my ignition a few months back. Could there be a problem with the electronics on the steering column?

I couldn't get a read on the map sensor plug because the meters tongs weren't small enough.

Just fixed the headlight. It was a lose negative connector in the harness. I just jammed it back up in the plastic end and got lucky.

The reading on the map sensor connector was about 3.5 volts in the center hole.

Paper clips aren't just office supplies.
Do NOT try to jam anything all the way into a terminal. Just touch it.

Re: Getting a P0108. Cleaned MAP sensor and it's still in limp mode

I was wondering if that was something people did! Thanks.

I did get a read on one if the outlets and on a map, I think it goes ground, voltagevoltag map signal. It was getting 3.5 on the voltage, so I think it should be good. Just need to replace the map sensor and see what happens now.

This is beyond frustrating. Just put in the refurbished denzo map sensor and the light came right back on. ****ing pile of ****.

What else could the issue be? I'm sick of this.

The voltage reading is around 3.5. What is it supposed to be?

Where could the problem be coming from? I'm terrible with electrical stuff.
