P0301 CODE, please guide
Hello Friends,
First post here, need your guidance please. I got a first hand 2018 Civic 1.5 L Turbo Touring, almost touched 50,000 KM. What a fantastic car! No doubt in the car.
background
1. For about 6-7 months in 2021, I felt bit of jerk at around 1100 - 1300 RPM, at speed of 25-30 KM. I live in Banff, Alberta where speed limit is restricted to 30 KM, so I feel this jerk more often whenever I foot down or up the gas, but over 1300 RPM, car was absolutely fantastic and felt everything smooth and easy. At highway as well, no issues. Always changing oil & filter right between 30 & 40%.
2. So, around a month ago, I got all warning lights ON except battery and the one with fuel sign (no blinking). I went to Honda dealer, they said I got a recall on my car (oil dilution), so they did some diagnostic and found P0301 code (with cylinder #1 misfiring). Dealer did some software update with a free oil change Car, after software update, was even more smother and outshining all of my expectations. Covered close to 5000 KM in 3 weeks, all highways, no issues at all. In fact, mpg improved to 5.8 L.
Now, a week ago all warning lights came back (except battery and the one with fuel sign). However, after 5 days, all warning lights disappeared itself. I went to the same dealer, and they quoted me CAD 2100 to replace all fuel injectors and a joint pipe (and no other option was given). My 3 years warranty for injector, as per the dealer, is over in April this year, and its not covered with extended 6 years warranty which Honda is offering on 'oil diluted' civics. Me feeling bad that after spending CAD 30,000 on my first car from where in world I got this oil dilution thing.
I am now considering to have fuel injectors and ignition coil cleaned at Canadian Tire Auto and to replace all 4 spark plugs. Please advise what your thoughts are? Does it make sense to spend CAD 2100 for P0301 code? Thank you
(please note I posted same question in another civic forum site as well)

Re: P0301 CODE, please guide
Check the battery connections and get the battery tested before dumping 2k into new injectors. Also wouldn't hurt to check the spark plug on cylinder 1
Re: P0301 CODE, please guide
I received some paperwork from the dealership and that says 'spark plugs checked and is good, ignition coil replaced with other coils, code P0301 still returned. Recommended to replace fuel injectors and a joint pipe'.Beside battery was checked and confirmed good as well (that's another horrible story.about battery...I left car ON in parking mode for 3 minutes, , music ON, phone charger ON, AC ON. I returned, placed car on a reverse mode, car started to reverse BUT won't stop...brakes felt like sinking to ground but nothing will stop car...it all happened for like 6-7 seconds, I was horribly shocked since my little baby was on the back seat. I immediately turned and let car hit a drive curb. Restarted car and everything was normal. Battery light also came on dashboard for like 3 seconds before disappearing itself. Sure I was very shocked and thinking is that what I heard about Honda famous reliability and all. Never heard or even seen before.
Later, Honda checked and found nothing expect poor battery recharge (something like that, they did something like recharge to battery), they said your brakes are also on battery (never heard before or let's say if I understood it correctly. I still feel bad about this particular incident).

Re: P0301 CODE, please guide
You can try swapping injectors around to see if the code moves to a different cylinder.
if the engine was off when you shifted to reverse then that's why the brakes were weird.

It needs a set of injectors. The 'pipe' is part of that job as it is not supposed to be reused.
Injectors come as a set, flow matched.

Re: P0301 CODE, please guide
I just hope I won't have another code waiting in line. I questioned Honda dealership what are the chances of code returning despite having a new set of injectors. They gave me a round answer saying that they recently had a CRV with a similar issue, however after new injectors, another code came up and that code was something related to oil going somewhere inside (if I understood it correctly).
