AC is out

So this is my second time on the forum in as many weeks. I have a 2017 civic that i bought in March of this year with less than 10,000 miles on it. The first issue occurred when the car wouldn't start without a jump. Prior to that, alarm was going off every fifteen minutes so i had to leave the car unlocked (luckily i'm in the suburbs). When i finally got it jumped, the dashboard was displaying several different error messages. Car was under warranty and they had to replace the body control module.

Now i am dealing with another issue of AC blowing hot air. I'm reading that this is a common issue with a very expensive fix. I'm taking it in on Monday to see if they can find where the issue is and to see if it is covered.

My question is, is it worth keeping the car when at this stage it is experiencing so many issues? The carfax is clean and had no reported issues but i can't help but feel that i've been sold a lemon whether intentionally or unintentionally. I don't qualify for lemon law status as so far the dealership has been able to fix the issue (only to have a new issue pop up). I've been looking into possibly getting an outside extended warranty and the cost of that but in all honesty, the hassle doesn't seem worth it.

Thoughts?

Side note: When things are back up and running, i am a driver that does 120 miles a day so having a car that has to be taken into the shop often is not an option.

Re: AC is out

If these issues become/continue to be beca common problem amongst year/gen/model then a manufacturer may voluntarily extend warranty coverage or be forced by a class action suit to extend warranty coverage beyond the present range. Probably, still a wait and see at this point.

I bought my daughter a 2017 (late in 2016) Nissan Sentra and a class action suit was brought against the CVT (Jatco) transmission prone to early failure. Nissan extended the 3yr/36k power train warranty to 5yr/60k miles on several vehicles.
Part of the issue is the recommended CVT transmission fluid change was set at 60k miles. I think it's now set at 30 or 40k for their latest models.

Her car is close to 60k now and she just had the cvt fluid changed a few months ago. I told her to drive it hard to hopefully get it to break down before 60k. She hadn't had any issues so far.

Thank you for responding. The only issue with the wait and see approach is that once the car goes out of warranty, that means big bills. Depending on what happens with the AC when i take it it on Monday, I may file a complaint with Honda Corporate about the car. That way i have a paper trail. If i were going to sell, i would ideally do it before the warranty is up in March 2021.

Did you initiate the class action suit or was there one already in place when you started to experience issues with your daughters car?

Honda's already extended the warranty on the condenser to 10 years from date of purchase with unlimited mileage. Loss of refrigerant will cause a loss of a/c functionality. I'd get that checked out
