lets see if i can explain this after just finishing working a graveyard!

Cat-back exhaust is a complete exhaust system that comes with piping that starts from your catalytic converter (hense the name cat back) and ends with the muffler.

Axel-back exhaust is just the muffler part (hense the name axel back, from your back wheels to the backof your car)

the last part of your question is more or less an axel back exhaust. Some people buy an axel back exhaust and then head to a muffler shop and have them custom bend some piping for there vehicle, usually 2.25 in piping (mandrel bent). This route tends to be a whole lot cheaper (a couple hundred for an axel back exhaust, and a hundred for some custom piping) approx. on price

A full cat back for our cars, depending on companies, can run from.......$600 to over a $1000 installed (dont quote me prices, these are what i have found when i was lookin for an exhaust) cheapest would be magnaflow, up to ones like Greddy Evo, Skunk2, DC Sports TCS

i think thats about it, if anybody would like to add to this or correct me if im wrong or something

right on the money. only one suggestion though, if you get custom piping, don't get anything else but stainless steel.
