New to Langley... What to do?
Hi Yeall,
I'm a n00b to Langley... just moved here with my family. I'm looking for some good places to take my girlfriend to when she comes to visit from the 29 (dec) to 06 (jan)
Any ideas?
Thanks in advance

well basically it goes like this...
I moved from Vernon... Vernon is a hole in the middle of BC containing about 23,000 individuals. mostly seniors. There is nothing to do except for in the summer when all of the nature trails and other crap opens for the season. So understand that I once went to the silver city theatre in mission... that it was one of the more exciting times of my life because that was an entertainment complex worthy of my money.
So basically anything big, new, or not available in a small town would be cool
BTW: is there an "Outback Steakhouse" anywhere here?
Now aside from the weather and traffic, I don't mind Langley so far. I am seriously disgusted in the snow you people get down here! its NOTHING compared to my old home in the mountains. Not that its any of your fault its just... i want real snow! Also, I'm quite used to Vernon traffic... now to get an idea of Vernon... the highways are 80KPH... and thats only on the outskirts of town... so merging onto the freeway at 100KPH is freaky business but I'll get used to it in time....

Welcome to the Lower Mainland!
Try Montana's on Fraser Highway and just past 200th Street. If you are real hungy go on a Wednesday for all you can eat Ribs for $16.00. They specialize in BBQ and let me tell you my mouth is watering thinking about their ribs.
In March and onward you might want to check out the Drive IN Theatre located on Fraser Highway as well, I think it is around 180th Street or something, you can't miss it. Good fun in the summer, take your car, take some drinks and have a blast with some friends, or sometimes you can even meet up with the 7th Gen crew there. There are not alot of these left in Canada, so go to it while it is still there.
Good things to take the girl to, well you can't go wrong with a Canuck's game, or even try something new, take her to a Vancouver Ravens lacrosse game at GM Place, tickets are much cheaper for the lacrosse games and Orca Bay puts on a good show. (Sorry this is my cheap plug for the team, let me know I might be able to grab you some tickets if needed.)
You can always take a trip out to Richmond and go to the TBC Indoor Racing Go-Karts. These little carts are sweet. They are in a warehouse, and they say reach up to around 60 Km, but I think it may be a little slower.
What else, sorry I am thinking off of the top of my head, Fridays and Saturdays, you can always take a trip down to Tim Horton's/Wendy's and go watch the street races, but it can be a dissapointment attempting to follow the group that will actually race.
If you want to get Romantic with the Mrs., take her to Cielo's or the Washington Avenue Grill on the main strip in White Rock. Cielo's is a tapas bar, it is a small place where you order only appies (not your typical appies though) and you can then take a walk on the Boardwalk, or try the Washington Avenue Grill on the weekend, they usually have live entertainment (Jazz, Piano Player, other bands) and tell Nick (manager) Randy sent you down there, he'll treat you good, and he is a fun guy.
I won't recommend clubs as I am not big on it myself.
Well I am kinda typed out, so I'll let you mull these options over.
Cheers, hope my suggestions are somewhat interesting.
