type Sbut i read in another forum that us civic owners can't do an engine swap with RSX type S engines... i forgot why not but i remember reading it...
can anyone back this up or am i on cracK?
your right dret
it cant be done because our engine sits on the driver side, while the RSX engine sits on the passenger side, and its also because our engine turns clockwise and theres turn counterclock wise, or vice versa, i forgot, different motor mounts
i also read in the magazine Honda Tuning, that it can be done only if u get the subframe from a RSX which would cost lot to do
and Oishi is also right, it was swapped into a 2002 SIR because there engine sits the same way as the RSX

thanks 2k2CivicSi you are the man
Theres probably a way somehow to pull it off.. but that would be expensive..
7Gs... is steep... i'd much rather trade my car in and get a type S... or simply just mod up my car with that much

yes, it's been done, but it's not a straight swap as you say it is. you gotta do alot of customization to fit the engine in. also, the guy that did it in the us is having problems with his tranny. also one more IMPORTANT thing, your engine has gotta be legit, with receipt and serial number and everything coz once you've done the swap, you have to bring it to a professional honda dealer so they can reset your computer. and they won't do the resetting unless they are able to do a background check on the engine.
